The island of Rab is situated in the north-west of Croatia and is one of the islands of the Kvarner archipelago in the Adriatic sea. Beside the homonymous small antic town there are seven different idyllic places situated on several areas of the island:
Barbat, Banjol,Palit, Kampor, Mundanije, Supertarska Draga and Lopar.
Rab is in the southest of the Kvarner bay, so the vegetation is mostly mediterranean. You can make sure of it as soon you arrive on a hot summer day to the island. The song of cicadas and the sweet smell of plants bursting through the keen-edged stones will give you a warm wellcome. After you have passed the rocky and treeless wild land by the ferry port, you will see the other side of the island, wich is , due the Mediterranean climate, rich and green in its vegetation. The most characteristic species being the holm oak and evergreen trees.
